Mei Foo Sun Chuen was the first private housing estate built in Hong Kong. Construction began in 1965 and was completed in 1978. Consisting of 99 blocks of flats it's estimated to house 70-80,000 people. Upon completion it was considered the largest housing development in the world. It's also a major transport hub between Kowloon and Tsuen Wan with two MTR stations and a bus terminus.
