The love affair got me reading juicing and raw food books. I searched high and low for vegetarian recipes and was keeping my eyes peeled for vegetarian restaurants and eateries.
A friend took me there for lunch, she'd found it when searching online for vegetarian restaurants in Wanchai. They have a set lunch where you have a choice of three out of six dishes. The day we went they had: bean curd with vegetables; pumpkin and taro; marrow with bean curd sheets; pickle with cabbage; aubergine and pickle; choi sum. Please excuse my translation of the dishes they aren’t very inspiring, however, they were all scrumptious. The meal came with a clear soup and a bowl of rice. You can have as many bowls of rice as you want. I only ate one bowl as it was loads of food already. For dessert there was a choice of sesame jelly or sweet potato cake. A small selection of drinks which included tea and coffee were available for $10 each.
I ordered the meal minus the dessert with a ginger honey drink - cost $55. A bargain in a clean and friendly environment!
In the evening Happy Veggies go a la carte. We had a look at the pictures in the menu and the dishes looked delectable. We’ll definitely go and try those dishes next time.
